star wars

I have twin nephews that are absolutely hilarious. They are 6 years old, and the hubster and I always use the “twins-isms” in our vocabulary. Things like, “I’m not smart of it,” and “you mean, that mom you always bring with you?” (which was in reference to me when my husband asked one of them if they knew who I was.) After doing some office cleaning, I came across these awesome drawings that one of them drew for me. They were created during their Star Wars kick, in fact, I think they are still into Star Wars. So, take a moment and guess who these characters are. Answers are below.

1. This one is what I think is Jabba the Hutt and some alien. It reminds me of Totoro, my favorite childhood character.
2. This is Luke, C-3PO, and R2D2… pretty obvious, right?
3. Obi-Wan Kenobi - the grand master in all his glory
4. Yoda - the ultimate grand master.

ooooo splurgin’

last weekend, i went to my sister in-law’s wedding in occidental. the wedding was beautiful, but it was mighty HOT. all the guys wore kilts, (including the hubster), and i splurged my butt off in anthropologie and wore an anna sui dress. the rest of the weekend was spent watching the world cup. in fact, all of our days now consist of the world cup and sierra nevada’s.

i also went to west elm in corte madera and splurged my butt off there as well. believe you me, my bum covers a lot of territory. so, it’s been hoppin’ shoppin’ for nance these days, but that will surely end soon. i bought a lamp there called the “belly lamp.” it’s turquoise and has a round belly in the middle that comes in and then flares out at the base. i just had to laugh at how fitting it was that i had to buy the “belly” lamp, considering that my own belly resembles the oh-so-cute lamp (despite the turquoise color)…. however, i wouldn’t use *cute* to describe mine. words more like *butt-ass-ugly* are great to describe mine. that and *ice cream monster* are good. mmmm…. ice cream

It’s Over

I just took my last final last night and it is now over. The pneumonia that I had is also over, (except for an annoying cough). I welcome summer with open arms and a shitty-grin on my face. I already started with buying some new cd’s (both are The Bad Plus), and clearing out my photos. Hence, this blog…. wanted to share some pics from a birthday bb-q. The hubby and I made a Bush effigy for a buddy of ours. We made it out of a Spider Man pinata and filled it with gold coins. Harmless fun; we didn’t have a crowd about with burning flags and chanting, but we definitely felt the satisfaction.

Now that it is summer, I am looking forward to camping, getting shit organized,
working on some compositions, and finally having an Open House for our new home. We have lived here for a year and had no time to have a house warming/open house. We trying to save up for a BB-Q to put on our porch. That and a panini grill…. damn, I’m obsessed with those things.
