Born in Los Angeles, California, Nancy Cho grew up in the Bay Area in Northern California. She began her studies in piano at a young age studying with Sonia Tubridy, and after a few years of college studying physics, she went into the corporate workfield. Deciding that her corporate career was unsatisfactory, she went back to school to obtain her bachelor’s degree in music. She studied with Ellen Wassermann at CSU Hayward focusing in piano performance.

Nancy continued her education at CSU Hayward to obtain her master’s degree in 2005.  Her focus changed from performance to composition where she studied with Frank La Rocca and graduated in 2008. 

She now resides in San Pablo, California, where she teaches private lessons and continues to compose.
